Conventional Raku

Pieces made with a dynamic firing process. Essentially, the piece is heated to ~1830 F., removed from the kiln and placed in a pile of combustible materials where it explodes into flame. The fire is then ‘reduced’, or robbed of oxygen, by placing a bucket or barrel over top until the smoke clears completely and the piece cools enough to handle it.
